Camp Celebrate is a weekend camp for pediatric burn survivors ages 7–15, with a Counselors‑in‑Training program for select teens ages 16–18. Founded in 1982 by the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center, it was created to give young burn survivors a traditional camp experience when none existed.

Most campers have been treated at the Burn Center, but the camp welcomes any burn survivor in North Carolina. Activities include swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, fishing, and a Sunday family picnic—along with the invaluable chance to connect with peers who share similar experiences. Many campers return year after year, with some coming back as adults to serve as counselors.

Camp Celebrate is supported by volunteers from across the state, including firefighters, Jaycees, and Burn Center staff, who serve as counselors, program leaders, and logistics support. The camp relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and civic organizations to make each year a success.

Teens ages 16–18 may apply to the Counselor‑in‑Training program, launched in 2006 to foster leadership, personal growth, and responsibility. Many CITs later return as volunteer counselors, continuing the cycle of support and mentorship.
