Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications
NC RAA values diverse perspectives and encourages nominations from individuals representing varied backgrounds, institution types, professional experiences, and career stages.
President
NC RAA membership required (Bylaws & Governances).
Conference experience: planned and attended a research administration conference in the last 3 years (NC RAA, NCURA, SRAI, NORDP, PRIM&R, etc.)
Leadership: demonstrated leadership in research administration (presenting, planning, committee or volunteer roles).
Strategic and financial experience: experience with strategic planning, goal setting, budgeting, or financial stewardship.
Experience: minimum 5 years in research administration.
Skills: strong written and verbal communication; ability to maintain records and follow governance and meeting protocols and procedures.
Time commitment: ~2+ weekly meetings during conference planning (≈10 months/year); must attend NC RAA Annual Conferences in-person.
Other: commit to a two-year term as President plus one additional year on the Advisory Board; willing to sign an NDA if elected.
Secretary
NC RAA membership required (Bylaws & Governances).
Conference experience: planned and attended a research administration conference in the last 3 years (NC RAA, NCURA, SRAI, NORDP, PRIM&R, etc.)
Experience: minimum 3 years in research administration with demonstrated administrative competence.
Skills: strong written and verbal communication; ability to maintain clear, accurate records and follow governance and meeting protocols and procedures.
Time commitment: ~2+ weekly meetings during conference planning (≈10 months/year); must attend NC RAA Annual Conferences in-person.
Other: commit to a two-year term as Secretary plus one additional year on the Advisory Board; willing to sign an NDA if elected.
